Drugs Seized At Dublin Port
Customs officers at Dublin Port have seized heroin and cocaine with an estimated street value of nearly 2.5 million euros.
It is understood that officers found 12 kilos of heroin and 2.5 kilos of cocaine concealed in two wood burning ranges, which arrived from Rotterdam on Thursday.
Officers, using a sniffer dog, discovered the drugs.

The union representing prison officers have spoke of their "embarrassment" over the arrest of a prison officer in connection with drug smuggling. The prison officer was arrested yesterday morning at 7.30am on suspicion of smuggling drugs into Mountjoy Prison in Dublin.

25-Year-Old Arrested For Attempted Murder Of Police Officers
A 25-year-old man has been arrested after using a tractor to ram three police cars in an attempt to evade capture. Officers investigating a report of a drink driver in Fivemiletown attended an address in the Tattenabuddagh Lane area just after midnight on Saturday 24 September as part of their enquiries.

Officers Seize €20,000 At Knock Airport
Revenue officers seized €20,000 in cash from a couple who landed in Knock airport having returned from Lanzarote. The can was concealed in items of clothing and carry-on luggage. The cash was seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act and investigations are continuing.

Suspect Released Following Drugs Raid
Heroin, cannabis and amphetamine worth an estimated €40,000 has been seized by gardaí during a search of a house in Thurles. Two arrests were made during the search, a woman in her 20s, who has since been released, and a man in his 30s, who remains in custody.

Mother Convicted On Firearms Charges
A Dutch mother of three has been jailed for the possession of firearms. The woman, Caroline Van Dongeren, 32, was given a three-year sentence after a search at her home uncovered two magazines each containing 10 rounds of ammunition.
