Traffic Diversions On N25 After Chemical Leak

An 'ammonia leak' at a factory has resulted in major traffic diversions on the N25 leading out of New Ross in County Wexford to Waterford.

Fire services are at the scene and the road has been closed as a precaution following the incident, which took place at around 7.00am this morning.

The N25 is closed from Kents Cross to the quays, with diversions in place from Waterford via Fethard-on-Sea and traffic from Wexford is being diverted through Thomastown.

Traffic disruptions are also expected around the site of the Electric Picnic festival in Stradbally, County Laois, as music fans leave the venue.
