Forensic Tests Carried Out On Castleknock Device

Forensic tests are to be carried out today on a suspect device that was found on Summerton Road in Castleknock, west Dublin, last night.

The homemade bomb was discovered behind a wall in a lunch box at around 7 pm and an army team was called in to remove the device just after 9 pm.

The area was cordoned off and Forensic experts will examine the device today.

Gardai believe it was left for collection to be used elsewhere.

A controlled explosion has reportedly been carried out on a suspected stolen car in Dublin. Army bomb disposal experts were called after what was believed to be an explosive device was spotted on the car, which was being towed to a premises in the Kingswood Cross area of the city.

Explosive Device Made Safe In Dublin
An explosive device was made safe by the Army early on Tuesday morning in Dublin. A bomb disposal team arrived at Cushlawn Park, Tallaght, at 2.35am to deal with the object outside a private home. Local people were evacuated, and the scene was declared safe at 3.20am.

Suspicious Device Found At Dublin Pub
Bomb disposal experts were tasked to a Dublin pub on Sunday morning, after being alerted to the finding of a suspicious device. Experts examined the device found outside the north Dublin Jolly Toper premises, concealed in a package located in a vehicle in the car park on Church Street, Finglas at around 8.30am.

Garda Appeal For Information On Murder Of Derek Hutch
An investigation has been launched into the murder of Derek Coakley-Hutch at a halting site in Dublin on Saturday, 20 January. The 27-year-old is the fourth member of the Hutch family to be killed in two years. The other three are said to have been victims of a feud with the Kinahan family.
