Pat Moylan Elected Chair of Seanad
Fianna Fáil Senator Pat Moylan has been elected as Cathaoirleach of the Seanad.
Mr Moylan, who is from Co. Offaly and a close associate of Tanaiste Brian Cowan, was elected unopposed when the new Seanad met for the first time since the election on Thursday afternoon.
Frances Fitzgerald became the new leader of Fine Gael in the Seanad, with new Senator Alex White leading Labour in the Upper House.
Former TD Dan Boyle is representing the Green Party, while Pearse Doherty becomes Sinn Féin's first Senator.

Committee To Decide Over Callely Case
The Seanad Committee on Members' Interests is expected to announce their decision on how to proceed with the expense fraud accusations against Senator Ivor Callely. So far, the senator has paid back almost €3,000 to Leinster House for the mobile telephony receipts between 2002 and 2007 that were found to have been dated after the company's closure.
