Gardaí Appeal Over Murdered Longford Woman
Gardaí have appealed for information following the discovery of a woman's body in a house in Longford.
The body of 37-year-old Sharon Coughlan, was found in a vacant house in the town on Saturday night.
A post-mortem revealed that she died from asphyxiation.
It is understood that Ms Coughlan worked in the Market Bar in Longford and had two children.
When she was last seen, Ms Coughlan, who is described as 5ft 3ins in height with shoulder length black hair, was wearing a black tracksuit with two white stripes along the legs and sleeves and was carrying a large black shoulder bag.
Gardaí have appealed for anyone who may have seen her in the hours before she died to contact them on: 043 50570.

Three Arrested Over Longford Murder
Gardaí in Co Longford have arrested three people in connection with the death of 37-year-old Sharon Coughlan. A 28-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were arrested shortly after 11am this morning. A further arrest was made when Gardaí detained a 19-year-old man in the Longford area around 1pm this afternoon.

Woman Released In Longford Murder Investigation
The woman being held by Gardaí in connection with the death of Sharon Coughlan, has been released without charge. Gardaí in Co Longford arrested three people yesterday. Two men, aged 19 and 28, were still in custody this morning. It is understood their period of detention has been extended.

A Czech national has pleaded guilty at the Central Criminal Court to raping and murdering a Longford mother last year. David Brozovsky (aged 22) with an address at Grian Ard, Ardnacassa, Longford raped and killed 37-year-old Sharon Coughlan at Great Water Street, Longford on September 15, 2007.

Status Yellow Rainfall Warning Issued Across 11 Counties
Met Éireann have issued a Status Yellow weather warning for rain across 11 counties. The warning, which came into effect at 7am this morning, is in place for Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan. The warning will remain in place until 6am tomorrow, when it will be reviewed.
