Firearm And Cannabis Seized In Dublin
An AK47 assault rifle and cannabis with an estimated street value of 4,000 euros have been seized in a raid in Dublin.
A man in his twenties was arrested during the raid, which took place shortly after 9am on Wednesday at the house in Gloucester Place in the centre of the city. He is being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act.
In a separate incident, cocaine with an estimated street value of up to 160,000 euros was seized during a planned search of a house in north Dublin.
More than a kilo of the Class A drug was found at the house in Marewood Crescent in Ballymun on Wednesday. No arrests have yet been made and an investigation is under way.

Man Arrested Following Drugs Find
Drugs with an estimated street value of €170,000 have been seized by gardai during a raid on a property in west Dublin. Cocaine and cannabis was found during the raid at a house in Balgaddy. A gun and ammunition were also discovered. A 37-year=old has been arrested and is being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station.

Gardai have seized herbal cannabis following a raid on a house in Wexford. It is estimated to have a street value of €45,000. A number of plants were found during the search of a property in Lee Heights on Thursday. No arrests were made and investigations are continuing.

Four men are to appear in court today in connection with a drugs find in Finglas. Gardai seized 470 cannabis plants during a raid on three properties at Meakstown Close on Saturday. It is estimated to have a street value of €376,000. The men were arrested on Saturday night and are to appear at Blanchardstown District Court.

Drugs Seized At Dublin Airport
Cocaine, with an estimated street value of €70,000, has been seized by customs officers at Dublin Airport. It is understood that 1kg of the drug was found in a child's toy house, which arrived in a freight consignment from Canada on Thursday.
