Inquest Into Post Office Deaths Continues
The inquest into the two armed raiders shot dead by Gardaí is continuing today.
The two men, Eric Hopkins and Colm Griffin, were part of a failed raid on a post office in Lusk in May 2005, when they were killed.
At Dublin City Coroner's Court where the inquest is being held, witnesses yesterday described how Gardaí had shouted a warning at one of the men, before he turned around and pointed his gun at the armed officers.
He and a second raider were then shot dead by the Gardaí.
It is anticipated the inquest will last four days, amid tight security raised by fears for the safety of the Gardaí.
