Teenager Drowns On Holiday

A 17-year-old girl from Kilkenny city is reported to have drowned while on holiday in Spain.

It is believed that the body of the girl, reported to be from Assumption Place, was found in a swimming pool on Friday.

According to reports, the girl was on holiday with her mother and grandmother.

Irishman Drowns On New Zealand Holiday
A young Irishman has drowned while on holiday in New Zealand, it has been reported. It is believed that the 21-year-old was among a group of six tourists who had been swimming in the Waikato River in Taupo in the central part of the country's North Island, when the tragedy happened.

A total of 17 people have been killed and 47 injured in road accidents over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend in the last six years, according to new figures release by the Road Safety Authority (RSA). The figures were released as the RSA and An Garda Síochána launched their Easter Bank Holiday Weekend Seatbelt Appeal.
