Man Dies In Farm Accident

An elderly man has been killed in an accident on a farm in County Westmeath.

The incident happened on the man's own farm near Athlone yesterday.

The man, who is believed to be in his 70s, became trapped in a slurry tank.

Gardai are investigating the incident.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

26-Year-Old Man Killed In Farming Accident
A man has been killed in a farming accident in Knockea, Co Cork. According to reports the 26-year-old man was found trapped under a trailer at around 12:45am. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation into the death has been launched by the Health and Safety Authority.

Girl Killed And 11-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Farm Accident
An eight-year-old girl has died and an 11-year-old girl seriously injured in a farm accident in Cork. The incident occurred in Newtownshandrum, near Charleville, on Sunday evening. It is believed the girls were playing in a field when a tractor bucket fell on top of them.

Man Dies In Farm Accident
A man has died following an accident on a farm in County Carlow on Thursday at around 6pm. It is believed the 79-year-old man was hit by a front loader on a digger on the family farm in Bennekerry. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Health and Safety Authority inspectors are expected to carry put investigations today.

Missing Cork Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.
