Murder Investigation Launched Into Clontarf Man's Death
Gardaí have launched a murder investigation into the death of a man whose body was found in an apartment in Clontarf in Dublin on Wednesday.
The body of 50-year-old Finbar Dennehy was found in the Merchamp apartment complex on Seafield Road East on Wednesday.
It is understood that a friend of the dead man found the body covered and lying on a couch. It has also been revealed that his hands had been bound and a bag was tied over his head.
A post-mortem revealed that he had been violently assaulted and stabbed.
Mr Dennehy was a single man who had lived alone in the apartment complex for 20 years.
Gardaí are studying CCTV footage from the apartment building and conducting door-to-door enquiries. They have also urged anyone who was around the Merchamp apartment complex to contact them.

Man In Court Over Clontarf Murder
A 41-year-old man is due in court this afternoon charged in connection with the murder of Finbar Dennehy. Mr Dennehy, 50, was found dead in his apartment last Wednesday stabbed to death in Clontarf, Dublin. The suspect has been in police custody since Saturday night when he was arrested by Gardai at a guesthouse in Dublin city centre at around 8pm.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.
