Two Die On Louth And Wexford Roads

A cyclist and a pedestrian have been killed after being hit by cars in Counties Louth and Wexford.

A man in his 50s died while cycling when he was hit by a 4x4 at Annaghvacky, Hackballscross, Dundalk, at 4.20pm yesterday.

A Garda spokesperson said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, a pedestrian in his 50s died after being hit by a car at Brownswood, Enniscorthy shortly after 10.15pm last night.

He was taken to Wexford General Hospital where he died.

Gardaí are investigating both incidents.

Man Presents Himself To Gardaí Over Hanlon's Corner Hit-And-Run
A man has presented himself to gardaí in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident on 30 September, following an appeal. In the incident an 87-year-old man was knocked from his wheelchair after being hit by a white lorry, which then failed to stop. The man died a short time later of his injuries.

Post mortem examinations have revealed the couple found dead along with their two young children in Co Wexford died from gunshot wounds. The family-of-four were found dead following a fire at their home in Clonroche on Saturday morning.

Man Killed In Wexford Collision
A man has died following a two vehicle crash in Wexford this morning. The 29 year old male driver of one of the cars was fatally injured and pronounced dead upon arrival at Wexford General Hospital after the car he was driving collided with another at approximately 6.15am on Friday morning.

Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit By Car In Co Wicklow
A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Co Wicklow. The incident occurred on the Coolgreany Road in Arklow at around 2.20am on Monday, 05 June. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to St Columcille's Hospital, Loughslinstown. A post-mortem is to be carried out. The driver of the car was not injured.

Witnesses Sought To Fatal Collision In Co Galway
Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Co Galway. A man, aged in his 70s, died when the car he was driving hit a wall on the Ballinasloe to Laurencetown Road at Sycamore Hill at approximately 8.30pm last night, Tuesday 20 February.
