Man Dies in Caravan Blaze

A 32-year-old man has died in a caravan fire in County Monaghan this morning.

The blaze started at the back of a halting site on Jubilee Road in Clones at around 9am.

The man's body was taken to the Mater Hospital for a full post-mortem examination.

It is believed the fire started accidentally.

Six Fire Crews Tackle Second Howth Hill Gorse Fire
Six Dublin Fire Brigade units tackled a gorse fire on Howth Hill on Monday night. The emergency services were called to the scene at around 22:00 last night. It is the second gorse fire in the area in a week. The first fire is believed to have been started deliberately, but the cause of last nights blaze is unknown.

Woman Dies In House Fire In Co Clare
A woman has died in a house fire in Co Clare. The victim, in her 50s, was alone at the property in Derrynavaha, Craggah, when the fire started at around 7pm on Sunday night. Gardai are currently investigating the incident.

Mystery Blaze At Merrion Inn
The owner of well-known pub, the Merrion Inn, which was gutted by fire early yesterday, has said he is unsure of its exact cause. Proprietor of the bar on south Dublin's Merrion Road, Eamonn McCormack, said that the blaze began at a back section of the establishment where bins are stored but was unsure of exactly how it started.

Couple Killed In Caravan Blaze
Two people have died following a fire in a mobile home in County Galway. It is not yet known if the fire, which broke out about at 2.00am on Wednesday, was started deliberately. A gardai spokesperson said the bodies of a man and a woman, believed to be a married couple, were found at Poolboy in Ballinasloe.

Investigation Follows Dublin Blazes
Gardaí have launched an investigation following a series of fires in Dublin yesterday evening. The suspicious blazes led Dublin Fire Brigade to attend three separate incidents in the Darndale area in the northside of the city within just over an hour. The first fire began at three unoccupied houses in the Buttercup Park estate at about 9.10pm.
