Companies Announce 300 New Jobs

Service industry jobs have been announced in counties Waterford and Dublin.

One of the largest call centre firms in Ireland, Rigney Dolphin based in Waterford, is poised to create 250 further jobs in its customer support services operation.

Also a further 50 jobs are to be created at Post Bank, the joint venture between An Post and Dutch-owned bank Fortis.

Rigney Dolphin, established in 1990, has around 850 people employed in its customer service support operation. The company, which recently opened new premises in Waterford is set to expand by around 1,100 staff.

Post Bank is to open new headquarters in D�n Laoghaire in Co Dublin. The centre will employ around 50 people.

Three Ireland Announce 74 New Jobs
Three Ireland has said it is to create 74 jobs in Waterford. The firm is entering into a partnership with Tech Mahindra Ltd to open a customer service centre in the city. The centre is expected to become operational in early 2015. Recruitment for the new roles is said to be underway.

Former Irish Times Editor Dies
Journalist Ella Shanahan, has passed away in her County Waterford home. Ms Shanahan, 60, was the former London Editor of The Irish Times. She will also be remembered for her work in the RTÉ newsroom in the 1970s.

Future Jobs Ireland - A Strategy To Secure Ireland's Economic Success
The Government has launched a strategy for the next phase of Ireland's economic development, known as Future Jobs Ireland. An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar TD, Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Heather Humphreys TD and Minister for Finance and Public Expenditure and Reform, Paschal Donohoe TD unveiled the plan on Sunday 10 March.
