Missing Dublin Schoolboy Case Revisited
Twenty-one years on, a fresh campaign has been launched for information about missing Dublin schoolboy Philip Cairns.
Philip, who was 13 at the time he vanished, was last seen on the Ballyroan Road in Rathfarnham on October 23, 1986.
The schoolboy had left Coláiste Éanna secondary school at 12.45pm that day to return to his home on Ballyroan Road for lunch. He left the house 45 minutes later to return to school, but never arrived.
A week later, his schoolbag was found in a laneway which links Anne Devlin Road and Anne Devlin Drive, near the school. No trace of Philip has been found since.
A 10,000 euro reward has been offered by the Irish Crimestoppers Trust for information about the schoolboy's mysterious disappearance.
A reconstruction of his last known movements was also featured on Tuesday night's 'Crimecall' programme on RTÉ.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact gardaí at Rathfarnham on: 01 666 6500 or Crimestoppers on: 1800 25 00 25.
