Investigation Launched Into Cork Death
Gardaí in Cork have launched an investigation into the death of an elderly man at his home in the city.
Gus Hornibrook, 74, was found in his house in Temple Acre Avenue in the Gurranabraher area of the city around 12pm on Tuesday.
Gardaí have confirmed that his death is being treated as suspicious.
A post-mortem took place on Wednesday afternoon. Gardaí revealed that no siginficant injuries were found on the body.
Gardaí have appealed for anyone who was in the area of Temple Acre Avenue between 9.30pm on Monday night and 1pm on Tuesday afternoon to contact them on: 021 4395540.

Simon Quinn was reported missing after last being seen at around 2.30am on Monday, 30 July. However, Mr Quinn has now been found and Gardaí said they wish to thank the media and public for their assistance.

Man Arrested In Michael Devoy Murder Investigation
Gardaí investigating the murder of Michael Devoy in January this year have arrested a man in his early 20s. A routine garda patrol in the Bohernabreena area of Tallaght, found the body of Mr Devoy on 18 January. He had been shot dead. Garda have confirmed they have arrested a man in his early 20s in connection with the murder.

Cannabis worth an estimated €100,000 has been uncovered in a wooded area in Co Cavan. Gardaí confirmed they made the discovery on Tuesday at Drumgill. No one has been arrested in connection with the find, gardaí have said, adding that the investigation is ongoing.

Man Stabbed To Death In Galway
A man in his 20s has been found stabbed to death in the early hours of this morning. Gardaí on patrol in the area found the man lying critically injured on the pavement. He was brought to University Hospital, but was pronounced dead at 3am.

Death Toll Fear From New 'Dr Death' Ecstasy
Following the deaths of two young graduates, Gardaí are warning that a lethal new 'Doctor Death' ecstasy mix could cause more deaths. A joint Gardaí and HSE alert was issued after it became clear that a consignment of the powdered substance was for sale on the streets of Cork.
