Cork Pensioner Killing Probe Details Withheld

While Gardaí in Cork are believed to be pursuing a number of theories as part of their investigation into the murder of pensioner Gussie Hornibrook earlier this week, the police are saying very little about how the 74-year-old died.

Gardaí have not revealed any details concerning the cause of death and have also declined to comment on reports that Mr Hornibrook was tied up.

What is known is that he was found at his home in Gurranabraher on Tuesday afternoon and was last seen alive on Monday night.

Detectives working on the case say house-to-house inquiries are continuing and that local residents have been very helpful so far.
