The Train Now Standing.....!
Train operators, Irish Rail has been forced to apologise to rail passengers whose journey from Sligo to Dublin yesterday took them more than seven hours.
Engine failure was blamed for the inordinate delay which meant the train which left Connolly Station at 5.05pm yesterday and was due to have arrived in Sligo at 8.10pm but did not reach its destination until 12.20am this morning.
Some of the 130 passengers on board last night complained about the lack of catering facilities and support services especially for a large number of elderly people on the train.
