Appeal Over Cork Pensioner Murder

Gardaí investigating the murder of a pensioner in Cork city last week have been questioning motorists and pedestrians in a bid to gain fresh information.

The body of Gussie Hornibrook, 74, was found in his home in Gurranabraher on November 6.

Gardaí have not revealed any details of his death, nor have they confirmed reports suggesting that the pensioner had been tied up.

He was last seen alive the night before his body was discovered.

On Monday evening, officers handed out over 200 questionnaires to motorists and pedestrians on Templeacre Avenue and Gurranabraher Road in an attempt to find people who might have been in the area when Mr Hornibrook was last seen alive.
