Jobs To Be Lost At Cider Makers
Bulmer's cider factory in Co Tipperary is to shed a substantial number of jobs.
Staff have beent told that 140 workers are to lose their jobs at Bulmers facility in Clonmel, Co Tipperary.
Although it had increased its workforce just last year, the company is now blaming a fall in cider sales for the lay-offs.
The news is prompting calls for Finance Minister Brian Cowen to freeze excise duty on cider in next month's budget to help sales of the drink to recover.
