Gangland-Style Murder: Man Held

Dublin police are continuing to question a man as part of their investigation into last month's double murder in the Walkinstown area of the city.

The man was arrested along with a woman, but the woman was later released without charge.

They were held in connection with the murders of 40-year-old Brian Downes and 24-year-old Eddie Ward on October 5th.

Both men were gunned down in a gangland-style shooting.

Missing Cork Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

Man And Woman Held Over Heroin Seizure
A male and female are being questioned after €20,000 worth of heroin was seized from their car in Cork in the early hours this morning. The Cork City Divisional Drugs Squad stopped the car near the Dunkettle roundabout at around 1am. The pair are believed to have been returning from Dublin.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Man Charged With Wexford Man's Murder In Australia
An Irishman living in Australia has been charged with the murder of an Irish construction worker in Perth. Vincent Martin Crowe appeared in court over the death of Wexford man Kenny Meyler, who died after being stabbed in the neck in February. The incident happened in the Perth suburb of Scarborough.
