Immigrant-Friendly Policies Sought
A group that is representing a variety of organisations working on behalf of immigrants into Ireland is calling on the Government to make its immigration policies more family-friendly.
The CADIC Coalition has published a new report today (Friday) that claims the current policy is actually responsible for separating migrant families.
The group says the most common situation is that one parent of a child born in Ireland is granted a residence permit, but the other parent is forced to live in their home country.
It says this makes it even more difficult for the lone parent to hold down a job in Ireland.
