Seven Arrested Over Ward Murder
Seven people are understood to have been arrested in connection with the murder of Sligo man Tom Ward in August.
Mr Ward, 23, was attacked with an axe as he sat in a van outside his parents home in Joe McDonnell Drive in the Cranmore Estate in August. He was married with a two-year-old daughter.
A car was later found abandoned, four miles from the murder scene, containing an axe and a number of balaclavas.
It is understood that those arrested are being held at Garda stations in Sligo, Carrick-on-Shannon, Castlebar and Manorhamilton.

Murder Victim's Family Ask For Privacy
A man has been murdered in Londonderry and another man remains in a critical condition following a vicious attack in the early hours of yesterday morning. The victim of the Sunday attack was named today as Paddy Harkin with the local Sinn Fein MLA Martina Anderson, relating that the family of Mr Harkin appealed for media privacy.

Second Murder Investigation Launched After Three People Stabbed In Cork
Gardai have launched a second murder investigation following three separate stabbing incidents in Cork city over the weekend. 30-year-old David Hamilton was stabbed at a house on the northside of Cork city on Friday around 14.30, and died at Cork University Hospital (CUH) on Monday evening.

Shot Man's Wounds 'Not Life Threatening'
A 35-year-old man has been shot twice in the leg inside a house in Twinbrook in Co Antrim on the outskirts of Belfast. A young girl and a woman were in the house in the Summerhill Drive area when the attack happened on Wednesday night. However, it is not believed that the man's injuries are life threatening.
