Baby Fatally Injured In Crash

A seven-month-old infant has been fatally injured in a road crash in County Meath.

The baby boy was injured during a collision between a car and a van near to Cushinstown Road on the N2 between Slane and Ashbourne on Tuesday evening at 6pm.

It is reported that the car had pulled in and that some of the occupants were standing outside the vehicle when the van crashed into it.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.

Elsewhere two drivers were taken to hospital following a collision between a van and a crane close to Claremorris in County Mayo.

The van driver sustained serious injuries in the crash. The crane driver is also receiving treatment for injuries.

The Claremorris to Castlebar Road was closed following the incident which occured at around 7am this morning. Diversions around the scene are expected to be in place for several hours.

A man has been killed in a collision in Galway. The car crash happened at around 2.45am this morning on the Headford to Galway Road. The 31-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Man Dies In Blarney Road Crash
A man has been killed in a two vehicle road crash that occurred between Parkanna Cross Rd and Davis Cross on the Blarney to Bweeng Road at approximately 11.30am on Tuesday. The man in his 20's was fatally injured when his car collided with a lorry. He was the sole occupant of the car and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deadly Cavan Road Crash Probed
Two men have been killed following a road traffic collision near Virginia, Co Cavan. The accident involving a car and a van occurred on the N3 near Lisduff, Virginia at 10.30pm on Wednesday. The dead men were travelling in the van with the driver being in his late 20s and the passenger in his late 30s.

Man Killed In Fatal Car Crash In Co Monaghan
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man was killed in a car crash in Co Monaghan. The two-vehicle collision happened at 6:30pm on the N54 Monaghan to Clones Road in Aghalisk yesterday, 05 January. The 68-year-old victim was fatally injured in the crash and declared dead at the scene.

Woman Killed In Co Longford Collision
A woman has died in a three-car collision in Co Longford. The crash happened on the R198 at Cloonagh at around 7.20pm on Thursday, 30 November. A 34-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other people were also injured, however their injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The road has since been re-opened.
