Arrests Follow Limerick Firearms Seizure
Two people have been arrested after three firearms were discovered during a search of houses in Limerick city on Monday.
The houses in O'Malley Park in the Southill area were searched on Monday and it is understood that a rifle, a sawn-off shotgun and a full-length shotgun were recovered.
Two people, a woman in her 30s and a 17-year-old man, have been arrested and are being held at Roxboro Garda Station.

Over 100 Arrests Made In Organised Crime Sweep
113 people have been arrested as part of an operation targeting organised crime. Gardaí carried out some 236 planned searches across the country in relation to the investigation. Around 4,200 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €3.5 million were seized at five grow houses in counties Cork, Meath, Wexford and Dublin yesterday.

Arrests Made Over Suspect Devices Found In Cork
Two men and a woman have been arrested in connection with the discovery of a number of suspect devices found in Cork city last year. A man and a woman in their 30s were detained in Kells, Co Meath on Tuesday, while another man in his 20s was arrested in Mallow, Co Cork.

Budget 2019 Housing Proposals 'Show No Imagination'
The housing proposals included in the Budget 2019 show "no imagination" and will do nothing to ease the housing crisis when it comes to rent, according to Labour Housing spokesperson, Jan O'Sullivan. Deputy O'Sullivan continued: "The budgetary measures leaked this overnight show that Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil have little regard for renters.

Investigation Launched Into Cork Shopping Centre Fire
An investigation has been launched into a fire at a shopping centre in Cork. Cork City Fire Service was called just before 14:00 after a fie broke out in a hair saloon at the entrance to Douglas Shopping Centre. The centre, which also houses branches of Tesco and Marks & Spencer, was evacuated while fire crews dealt with the blaze.

A leading European planner has said she is "astonished" by the sprawl of housing in Ireland. Virna Bussadori, President of the European Council of Spatial Planners described Ireland's rural planning as "random" and said it represented a "spoiling of the territory".
