Hit-And-Run Accused Released
A man (33) has been released after being arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in Co Wicklow yesterday evening.
An elderly woman, (79) was killed when she was hit by a vehicle in Killeager, the Scalp, near Enniskerry.
A file has been sent by gardaí to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
This was only the latest in an ongoing litany of deaths on the roads which shows little sign of let up.

Man Released Following Dublin Shooting
A man has been released without charge after being questioned in connection with the shooting of a boy in Dublin on Friday. The six-year-old was shot in the neck in Ballyfermot. A man was detained on suspicion of withholding information. A file is being prepared for the DPP.

Driver Arrested After Gun Find
A 25-year-old man was arrested in Dublin yesterday after a gun was found in the car he was driving, garda have said. The car was stopped and searched at about 5.30pm on North Circular Road by gardai on patrol. Officers found a firearm and other implements in the car.

A report is to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions following the arrest of six people in an investigation of alleged systematic sexual abuse. Officer from Dublin's Sundrive Road Garda Station are investigating allegations that a young girl was abuse over a five-year period.

NRA Call For Introduction Of Additional Tolls On M50
The National Roads Authority (NRA) has called for the introduction of more tolls on the M50 in an effort to address gridlock on the countries busiest road. The NRA said that "effective measures" were needed to address congestion on the M50, and that traffic control decisions needed to be "taken now".

After 16 months of construction and an investment of €26 million, the N5 Longford Bypass opens 2 months ahead of schedule. Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Leo Varadkar, welcomed the opening of the N5 Longford Bypass. "The bypass will dramatically improve the town environment for residents, traders and the public in general.
