Murdered Swiss Student's Parents Visit Galway

The parents of slain Swiss student, Manuela Riedo, have said they want justice for their murdered daughter while they visited the location in Galway where her body was found last October.

Hans Peter and Arlette Riedo said they hoped and prayed for justice for their daughter and in a statement issued this morning, thanked the people of Ireland for their support and prayers, saying the good wishes helped them greatly during a difficult time.

They have also appealed for privacy and say they will not be speaking to the media during their time in Ireland.

Last evening Mr and Mrs Riedo met with detectives who have been investigating the circumstances surrounding their daughter's death.

This morning they visited the location where the 17-year-old's remains were found - on wasteground adjoining 'the line', a stretch of land linking Renmore with the city's bus and train station and later returned to the scene to look at floral tributes and a small memorial that has been erected nearby.
