Cork Crash Victim Named

Gardaí have named the young woman who was killed in a three-car collision in Co. Cork on Monday.

Sian Roberts, 19, from Kilbarry, Fermoy, was killed when the car she was traveling in was involved in a collision with two other vehicles on the Cork-to-Dublin Road in Cork City on Monday evening.

Two other people were also killed in accidents on Monday.

In Co. Donegal, a 28-year-old man who has been named in reports as Ciaran Herrity, died when his car hit a pole in Bruckless, on the road between Donegal town and Killybegs.

A 23-year-old man, believed to be a Romanian national, was killed when the car he was driving struck a petrol tanker on the outskirts of Drogheda around 7:30pm last night.

Two People Killed In Co Cork Road Traffic Collision
Two people have been killed in a road traffic collision in Co Cork yesterday, 05 April. The incident happened at around 5:10pm on the N20 Cork to Limerick Road one mile outside Mallow. The occupants of one car, a male and female both in their 70's, were killed in the collision.

Four Women Killed In Co Kildare Road Collision Named
Four young women who were killed in a road crash in Co Kildare on Tuesday night have been named. Ashling Middleton, 19, Niamh Doyle, 19, Gemma Nolan, 19 and Chermaine Carroll, 20, all died in the collision. The driver of the car, who is also 20, is currently being treated in Tallaght Hospital. She is suffering from serious injuries.

Missing West Cork Man Found By Coastguard
A west Cork man reported missing on Monday night has been found "safe and well". Bantry Gardaí launched a search operation, assisted by the Coast Guard Helicopter and local coast guard units.

Vigils Held To Mark One Year Since Death Of Savita Halappanavar
Around 100 people gathered in Galway's Eyre Square on Monday evening to mark the one year anniversary of the death of Savita Halappanavar. A candlelight vigil was held to mark the death of Mrs Halappanavar, who died at Galway Hospital one year ago.
