UK Embassy Staff Vote To Strike
The unheard-of prospect of a strike by staff at a British embassy is now looming in Dublin.
Members of the Unite trade union have voted overwhelmingly in favour of taking industrial action at the British Embassy in Ballsbridge in Dublin.
More than 90% of the membership voted in favour of the action in support of three colleagues who have been threatened with compulsory redundancy.
In a statement, the British Embassy said it regretted the redundancies but said they were in line with its government's strategy to transfer resources to other areas.
