Road Death Toll Mounts
Three people have been killed in separate road accidents in Dublin, Carlow and Louth, bringing the death toll on the roads to six in the last 48 hours.
A man was killed in a traffic collision on the Dublin Road just outside Carlow at around 8.20 this morning. A second driver was taken to hospital but is understood to be not seriously injured.
Meanwhile, last night saw the deaths of two men killed in separate incidents.
A man in his fifties died when his car left the road and collided with a tree in Santry, Co Dublin at around 8pm last night.
Later, a 17-year-old boy was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Drogheda, Co Louth at around 9.30pm.
He was taken to Lady of Lourdes Hospital but died there a short time later.
The accidents have brought the death toll on the roads to six following the deaths of three men on Sunday.
A 27-year-old motorcyclist died in Co Louth when his motorcycle left the road at Ballybarrack, Dundalk shortly after 9 pm.
While another 27-year-old man died when his car entered the canal at Ardclough near Straffan, Co Kildare at around 9pm last night.
His body was recovered from the vehicle and a post mortem is to take place at Naas General Hospital.
Another victim, a 30-year-old man, died after a road collision in Co Wicklow.
The man's moped collided with a car at Hollywood Cross, Hollywood, Co Wicklow shortly after 8pm last night.
He was seriously injured and brought to Naas Hospital, where he died on Monday afternoon.
Gardaí are investigating the incidents.

Garda Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Road Accident
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses of a fatal road accident in Co Kerry. A 24-year-old man died when the car he was driving hit a wall on the N69 Tralee-Listowel Road in Glenballyma in Tralee. The accident happened at about 21:45 on Saturday. A post-mortem is due to be carried out today.

Donegal Accident Claims Another Road Victim
Another fatal accident has blighted the roads in Ireland with a man dying in an early morning crash in Co Donegal. This is the latest such fatality and happened in the border village of Muff at about 1am on Friday. The victim was in his twenties and from the village of Burnfoot in County Donegal.

Man Charged Over Fatal Dublin Stabbing
A 20-year-old Dublin man has been charged in connection with the stabbing of Mark Spellman in Sandymount on Saturday morning. Dane Pearse from the Irishtown area of south Dublin has been charged at Dublin District Court with serious assault and possession of a weapon.
