Kearney Murder Trial Adjourned
The high profile case against Brian Kearney has been adjourned until Wednesday morning while the trial judge views the evidence.
Mr Kearney (50) is pleading not guilty to murdering his wife Siobhan Kearney (38) whose body was found in an upstairs bedroom of the couple's home at Knocknashee, Goatstown on 28 February 2006.
Siobhan and Brian Kearney were spending the winter in Dublin during the closed season for their small hotel in the Mallorcan village of Soller which they had bought and developed five years ago.
They had held on to their home at Knocknashee Park near Dundrum where Siobhan's body was found.
The jury was sworn in earlier today at the Central Criminal Court.
Mr Justice Barry Whyte told the jury of seven men and five women that he was adjourning the case so an edited book of evidence could be presented to the defence counsel.
He said that the prosecution had agreed that a lot of evidence in the current book might be inadmissible.
Justice Whyte said it was an issue for him to determine what evidence is admissible or not.
It is expected that an edited book of evidence will be presented to the defence before Wednesday morning.
The trial is due to get underway at 11am on Wednesday. It could last for up to five weeks.
