Man Injured In Longford Road Crash

A man has been seriously injured in a road collision in Co. Longford.

The incident happened shortly before 6pm on Monday on the Edgeworthstown Road near Ballymahon.

It is understood that a car collided with a van.

Two other people were also taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

A number of shots were fired at a house outside Longford town last night. Nobody was injured and minor damage was caused to the house on the Dublin Road. The attack happened just before midnight. It is believed the incident is the latest in a series of attacks, in connection with a feud between families and travellers in the area.

Man Dies And Two Seriously Injured In Road Crash
A man has died and two men have been seriously injured in a road accident in County Longford. The collision, which involved three vehicles, happened on the N5 between Longford and Tarmonbarry at around 5pm yesterday evening. The two injured men, aged in their 20s and 40s, were taken to Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar.

19-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Co Longford Crash
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a serious road traffic accident in Ferefad, Co Longford on Sunday, 09 August. A 19-year-old man was seriously injured with the car he was travelling in collided with a ditch on the Ferefad to Ballymacormack road at about 03:50. The driver of the car and four other passengers were uninjured in the crash.

Status Yellow Rainfall Warning Issued Across 11 Counties
Met Éireann have issued a Status Yellow weather warning for rain across 11 counties. The warning, which came into effect at 7am this morning, is in place for Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan. The warning will remain in place until 6am tomorrow, when it will be reviewed.
