Waterford Motorcyclist Killed
There has been another road fatality today with news that a 22-year-old man has died in a road crash in Co Waterford.
The man died when the motorbike he was riding collided with a car at Ballymacague, Dungarvan, Co Waterford
The collision occurred at 12:50pm this afternoon. There were no other reported injuries.
Gardaí are currently investigating the crash.
Meanwhile, the woman hurt in Galway following a Salthill road accident early this morning remains critically ill in hospital
The single vehicle collision happened on the promenade road at 3am.
A section of the road was closed and wasn't due to be re-opened until 3pm this afternoon.
Diversions are in place and gardaí are advising motorists to avoid the area.
Separately, there is a serious diesel spill stretching over 30km from the Limerick city bypass out the N20 Limerick-Cork road as far as Charleville.
AA Roadwatch says there have been a number of minor collisions on the route already.
Gardaí are dealing with a crash at the southern end of the Croom bypass, where long delays have been reported.

Man Dies In Single-Vehicle Crash
A man has been killed in a collision in Galway. The car crash happened at around 2.45am this morning on the Headford to Galway Road. The 31-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Three Killed In Waterford Road Crash
Three men have died following a road traffic collision in Waterford. According to Gardaí, two cars collided on the N72 between the junctions with the N25 and the R672 at around 10am on Sunday, 04 December. It is understood six occupants of one of the cars were all taken to hospital by air.

Gardaí Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Co Wicklow Road Crash
Gardaí in Co Wicklow have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road crash on Sunday night. A 22-year-old died when the car he was driving hit a ditch at Milltown Lane in Ashford just before midnight. A passenger in the car, a 26-year-old man, was taken to St Columcille's Hospital in Loughlinstown. He is said to have sustained minor injuries.

It is understood the woman was a front seat passenger in a car that crashed into a ditch at Dreenan in Ballybofey at about 4:24am on Tuesday. The driver of the car, a 19-year-old male, is said to have suffered minor injuries in the crash.

It is understood that the man was driving a van that collided with a lorry at Johnsbrook on the N52 from Kells to Mullingar, at about 10:30 this morning. Emergency services pronounced the man dead at the scene.
