Teenage Girl Held In Drimnagh Murder Case

Gardaí investigating the murder of two men in Drimnagh last week have arrested a teenage girl this morning.

The girl is being detained at Sundrive Road Garda station under the provisions of Section 4 Criminal Justice Act.

Three other teens arrested last week in connection with the incident have been released and files were sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Two Polish men, 29-year-old Pavel Kalite and 27-year-old Marius Szwajkos, died in hospital after being attacked in Drimnagh on 23 February.

A vigil was held at Benbulben Road in Drimnagh on Saturday night exactly a week after the attack.

Gardaí believe the two men – who were in Ireland for less than nine months - were stabbed in the head a number of times with a screwdriver. However a weapon used in the attack has still not been recovered.
