Trust In Ahern Drops – Poll
There has been an increase in the number of people in Ireland who do not trust the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern to run the country, a poll has suggested.
The Red C/ Sunday Business Post poll found that half those surveyed no longer trust the Taoiseach.
However, despite a drop in ratings for Mr Ahern, the poll revealed that support Fianna Fáil rose by one per cent to 37% in the last month.
Fine Gael is down one per cent to 31% and Labour is unchanged at 10%.
Support for the Green Party and the Progressive Democrats also remains unchanged at 7% and 2% respectively.

Cowen 'Should Quit' Says Poll
More than half the Irish voters questioned in a new poll on the controversy over Taoiseach Brian Cowen's Morning Ireland 'hangover' interview want him to quit. The new survey also showed that 71% of voters believe he has lost credibility as a result. However, an even larger majority said they would not change their voting intentions.

Poll Reveals 'Hunger' For General Election
An opinion poll in the Irish Sun newspaper has revealed that a majority of voters want a general election before the end of the year. A majority of 59% said they wanted the Government to call a general election in 2010 in the poll conducted by RED C.

Taoiseach Heckled Over Lisbon In Kildare
The Taoiseach has been on the receiving end of some anti-Lisbon ill will by campaigners at the National Ploughing Championships in Co Kildare. Supporters of Sinn Féin, who are taking an anti-Lisbon stance, and the recently formed Farmers Against Lisbon group encircled the Taoiseach yesterday as he made his way through the trade exhibition area.

A new poll has revealed that up to 80% of people support same-sex marriage, Labour Party TD and Co-Chair of Labour LGBT, John Lyons, has said. Highlighting the Red C/Paddy Power poll, Mr Lyons said: "(The) poll builds upon consecutive national polls which show consistent support to afford gay and lesbian couples the right to civil marriage.

New Poll Show Decline In Support for Government
A new Ipsos/MRBI poll, published in tomorrow's Irish Times, shows a sharp drop in satisfaction with the Government, the Taoiseach and the Tánaiste, and a surge in support for Sinn Féin, Independents and smaller parties. Sinn Féin is now the second most popular party in the State, the poll has found.
