Lucky Escape For Pupils Involved In Car Collision
More than 20 school pupils from Mullingar in County Westmeath have narrowly escaped injury when the school bus they were travelling in was involved in a head-on collision with a car.
The incident, which happened this morning, involved 22 pupils from Sonna National School in Slane Moore.
The crash occurred at Bun Brosna, one mile off the main Longford to Mullingar road.
The driver of the car suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Despite both vehicles being write-offs, nobody else was seriously hurt.

Man Arrested Following Fatal Crash In Kilkenny
A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal road crash in Co Kilkenny. A man died in the collision, which happened at around 1am on the westbound carriage of the N24 Piltown bypass. The second car involved failed to remain at the scene. A 53-year-old man is currently being detained at Thomastown Garda Station.

Pensioner And Child Killed On Irish Roads
A senior citizen and a young child have died in separate road accidents on either side off the border. A 65-year-old man was fatally injured after a three-vehicle road crash on the Newry Road in Kilkeel on Tuesday afternoon. Two other people have been taken to hospital for injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.

Seat Belts 'Save' Kids In School Bus Crash
All six children onboard a Co Donegal bus that crashed this morning were uninjured - thanks in large part to all of them wearing seat belts. The bus, under contract to Bus Éireann, was involved in a collision on its way to Burt Post Primary School, in Co Donegal.
