Port Tunnel Shut

The Dublin Port Tunnel was temporarily closed to all traffic after a truck caught fire in the facility this afternoon.

The normal HGV ban for traffic in the city centre was lifted shortly after the closure, which happened at around 12.30pm.

The emergency services were at the scene this afternoon, but no injuries have been reported.

The tunnel was not expected to remain closed for long, but motorists are being warned to expect delays in the city due to lifting of the HGV ban.
