ISPPC Deeply Concerned About Criminal Grooming Of Children
The ISPCC has said it is deeply concerned that children as young as 10 are being used to run drugs and guns in Limerick.
This emerged after a 15-year-old appeared in court in the city for handling a loaded gun.
Senior garda also described how feuding gangs are targeting children and grooming them for crime.
Supt Frank O'Brien, Head of the Roxboro Garda District in Limerick, said criminal gangs were exploiting the raising of the age of criminal responsibility, which previously was set at seven years of age.
Crime figures released earlier this week found Limerick has the highest level of homicide and gun crime in the state.
