Pole Accused Of 'Hanging' Partner
A Polish Man has appeared in court accused of trying to fake the suicide of his partner.
The court heard how Mr Lech Szymczk, of North great Charles Street, Dublin 1, tried to hang his girlfriend to make it look like a suicide. The 49 year-old is also accused of badly beating the woman and throwing a knife at her head.
Judge Tony Hunt and a jury of seven men and five women in Dublin's Crown Court also heard how the man's partner, Ms Danuta Pisarska, was hung by the belt of her dressing gown, after Mr Szymczk had drank 15 cans of beer and beat her for over an hour.
It is also alleged Mr Szymczk had kept her tied up over night.
The Polish man has pleaded not guilty to the offences including one count of assault causing harm and two counts of endangerment in August 2006.

Eric Doyle of Whitechurch Avenue, Ballyboden, in County Dublin, was already banned from driving for four years when he knocked down and killed Lilly Hastings-Bass on the Rathgar Road on the 26th of November 2006.

Missing Cork Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
