Prisoners Found With Their Own Cell Phones

A number of mobile phones and cellular phone equipment has been confiscated from a number of inmates of an Irish prison.

Six top criminals were found in possession of the prohibited mobiles, as well as four SIM cards and chargers. They have since been transferred to the segregation unit of the Portlaoise Prison following the discovery.

The inmates, who include major gangland figures and murderers, were relocated following a detailed search of the prison by staff.

Two other phones were also found during an earlier search.
