Bomb Making Equipment Found In Tallaght

A tip off to garda on Monday has led to the discovery of pipe bomb making equipment in a carpark in Tallaght.

Local gardai received a call shortly before 5pm on Monday evening saying there was a suspicious package left in the carpark of a public house on Greenhills Road, Tallaght.

On arrival at the scene, Tallaght gardaí located a bag in the carpark and immediately sealed off the area.

Army EOD were brought in shortly before 7pm to investigate the package and found a bag containing component parts for the making of pipe bombs.

The Tallaght Detective Unit is now investigating the matter.

Garda have refused to speculate on the origin of the bomb parts.

Bomb Making Components Recovered In Dublin
Gardaí in Dublin requested the assistance of Army bomb experts after bomb making components were found. According to garda the incident began at about 12:30 on Thursday afternoon when components where uncovered in the Broadstone area in Phibsboro. The nearby Dublin Bus depot was closed while an army bomb disposal team examined the scene.

Missing Tallaght Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A man who had been missing from the Tallaght area has been found 'safe and well', Garda have reported. 30-year-old John Rodgers was reported missing on 11 July. However, Garda said John has now been found and thanked the public for their assistance.

Teen Arrested Following Firearm Seizure
A 19-year-old man has been arrested by gardaí following the seizure of a firearm in Tallaght, Dublin. He was arrested on the Jobstown Road at approximately 12.40am on Tuesday morning. Gardaí were alerted after a man was seen holding a weapon. The male was chased on foot and gardaí disarmed and arrested him.
