Fugitive Lynn Fined €2m By Tribunal
On the run Michael Lynn has been fined €2 million by a tribunal for a combination of fraud, theft and forgery.
It was revealed Mr Lynn owes in excess of €80 million to clients he stole from, including his sister, Anne Jordan.
The solicitors' disciplinary tribunal, an independent body, which investigates complaints against solicitors, recommended yesterday that Lynn be struck off without delay.
Lynn was found guilty of 57 charges of professional misconduct after the Law Society investigated just two of his property transactions.
Tribunal chairman Frank Daly described Lynn's behaviour as "disgraceful" and said he did not deserve to be a member of the legal profession.
The tribunal revealed how Lynn used an elaborate system of bank drafts to thwart an audit trail of his client accounts and deliberately misled the Law Society investigation.
Michael Lynn was not present for the hearing and unrepresented by a defence Counsel. He remains on the run as a fugitive
The tribunal's recommendations will be sent forward to the President of the High Court.
