Pipebomb Explodes In Dublin House
Residents in Dublin were evacuated last night after a pipebomb explosion in the front garden of a house in the south of the city.
Gardaí arrived on the scene shortly after the explosion at around 11pm last night in a house on Monasterboice Road in Crumlin.
Gardaí sealed off the area and evacuated nearby homes, however no one was injured in the attack.
An army Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) team was called to examine the scene of the explosion.
After an investigation, the army EOD team declared a device pieced together from debris as being an exploded pipe bomb.
A thorough search of the area followed, and residents were returned to their homes in the early hours of the morning.
It is believed that the device in question was thrown from a passing car and exploded in the front garden under the window.
There was no damage to the house although there was a small crater left in the garden where it exploded.
No arrests have been made, but investigations are ongoing.
