Limerick Man Shot In Broad Daylight

A man in his 40s has been injured after he was shot at several times in Limerick city on Wednesday.

Gardaí at Roxboro Road are investigating the incident, which occurred at approximately 4pm on Wednesday evening in Hyde Avenue in the Ballinacurra Weston area of Limerick City.

A number of shots were fired at the man inflicting injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

The gunmen used a green car in the incident and gardaí are investigating whether or not the shots were fired from the car or if the gunman alighted from it.

The car was found a short time later burned out in Rhebogue.

The man is receiving medical treatment at the Mid Western Regional Hospital Dooradoyle.

Both scenes have been cordoned off and investigations are ongoing. Gardaí are asking for witnesses to the incident to come forward.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Missing 25-Year-Old Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A 25-year-old man who was missing from Harcourt Street in Dublin has been found safe and well, Gardaí have reported. Simon Quinn was reported missing after last being seen at around 2.30am on Monday, 30 July. However, Mr Quinn has now been found and Gardaí said they wish to thank the media and public for their assistance.

Gardai Appeal For Witnesses Following M4 Incident
Gardaí at Mullingar are investigating an incident which occurred on the M4, one km from Kinnegad on the eastbound lane at approximately 4pm yesterday, Monday 24th June. It appears from initial investigations that a car, believed to be a dark coloured Opel Zafira, caught fire. A man believed to be in his early 50s was found deceased in the car.

Eight Arrested In Dundalk Murder Inquiry
Gardaí investigating the murder of Aidan Myers in Dundalk last year have arrested eight people. Six men and two women were arrested this morning. It is understood that four men, aged 19 and 26, are being questioned in relation to Mr Myers' murder, while two men and two women are being questioned on suspicion of withholding information.
