Motorcyclist Dies In Cork
A 58-year-old motorcyclist has died following a crash in Ballinhassig, Co Cork, on Monday afternoon. The man's motorcycle crashed into a wall in Rigsdale just before 4pm. He was taken to Cork University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Woman Airlifted To Hospital After Aran Islands Crash
A woman has been airlifted from one of the Aran Islands after being injured in a car crash in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The two-car collision happened on Inis Mór at around 2am. The injured woman, who had been trapped in one of the cars, was flown to University Hospital Galway in the Shannon-based rescue helicopter. She is now in a comfortable condition.
Adults Not Eating Enough Dairy Products
Almost one-third of Irish adults don't get enough dairy products in their diet, according to a survey commissioned by the National Dairy Council. The survey found that many adults do not consume the recommended three portions of dairy products every day. The Dairy Council has published the figures to coincide with a new campaign to raise awareness about the importance of milk and other dairy products. Nutritionists say dairy items are a vital source of calcium for healthy teeth and bones.
Government Aims For 100% Broadband By 2009
The Government is planning to ensure that every part of Ireland enjoys broadband coverage by the end of next year. Reports this morning say a new strategy due to be published by communications Minister Eamon Ryan also aims to ensure that Ireland's broadband speeds will be among the highest in Europe within the next four years. At present, Ireland's broadband penetration lags behind the OECD countries average. Speeds available are also considerably lower than those in other developed countries, while the prices charged for the service are considerably higher.

Man Dies In Single-Vehicle Crash
A man has been killed in a collision in Galway. The car crash happened at around 2.45am this morning on the Headford to Galway Road. The 31-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
