Quarry Winners No Longer Dig Deep After Scooping Lotto Jackpot
A 16-strong syndicate of quarry workers are getting used to their new millionaire status, after claiming their record jackpot prize in the Irish lotto.
Some of the men even managed to clock in for work despite scooping a share in Ireland's biggest ever Lotto windfall.
The winners, from Dan Morrissey Ltd in Bennekerry, Co Carlow, vowed that the win "won't change us". Some of the down-to-earth winners said they were simply looking forward to "paying off the bills".
The syndicate will wait until later in the week before collecting their €18.9m cheque -- almost €1.2m each.
A jubilant Pat Kearns commenting on behalf of his colleagues said: "We're all over the moon about it. We're just trying to get our thoughts together and get all the people together to assess what we're going to do."
