Barak, Trinity, And The Sundance Kid

Hollywood Actor, Robert Redford, has told a Dublin audience that if Barack Obama loses the presidential election, "you can kiss the Democratic Party goodbye".

Speaking at a public interview in Trinity College on Thursday night before receiving his honorary degree by the university on Friday, Redford joined a growing list of Hollywood endorsers, saying he hoped Obama would win.

Mr Redford said the Republican candidate John McCain "represents yesterday", and that the Obama embodied the sort of change America needed.

"I think Obama is not tall on experience . . . but I believe he's a really good person. He's smart. And he does represent what the country needs most now, which is change.”

Robert Redford, 71, is best known for his roles in The Sting, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and All the President's Men. He won his first Oscar as a director for the emotional family drama Ordinary People in 1980.
