Residents To Be Allowed Home Following Asbestos Scare
Around 50 residents, who were evacuated from their homes following a fire in a disused factory in Co Waterford, are returning home this morning.
Residents in Lismore, Co Waterford, were evacuated due to fears the Samshire recycling plant may have polluted the air with asbestos.
However, the Environmental Protection Agency has carried out tests from six locations around the site, and no traces of the chemical were found.
Gardaí are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire, which they believe may have been started deliberately. There were no reported injuries.

Garda Urge Residents To Take Home Security Checklist Challenge
An Garda Síochána has launched a new home security campaign, calling on the public to take its Home Security Checklist Challenge. Launched as part of its Supporting Safer Communities Campaign, garda said that there was a 4% rise in residential burglaries in 2013 – 2014, with the most likely entry point being the rear of a house.

HSE Take Over Nursing Home Following Concern For Residents
The owners of a nursing home in Co Galway were ordered to cease operating last month after inspectors expressed “grave concern” for the welfare and safety of up to 22 residents. Inspectors from the Health Information and Quality Authority (Hiqa) found evidence of poor management of medication and inadequate staffing levels.

Journalist Ella Shanahan, has passed away in her County Waterford home. Ms Shanahan, 60, was the former London Editor of The Irish Times. She will also be remembered for her work in the RTÉ newsroom in the 1970s.

Residents Evacuated After Viable Device Found In Dublin
Residents had to be evacuated from their homes in Dublin after a suspected viable device was found. The suspect device was discovered in Blanchardstown at around 8pm on Saturday. Army Bomb Disposal experts made the device safe at the scene. Residents have returned to their homes and the scene was declared safe at 9pm.
