Limerick Native Found Dead In Alaska

Police in the United States are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an Irishman who was found in Alaska last week.

Edward Byrnes, originally from Limerick, was found dead beneath a bridge in the city of Anchorage last Friday.

It is thought the 36-year-old - a member of the US army, who had recently returned from a tour of duty in Iraq - may have fallen from his death from the bridge.

Police in Anchorage, which is the state of Alaska's largest city, are appealing for witnesses who may have any information to contact them.
