Woman Injured In Hit And Run

Gardaí are appealing for information following a hit and run incident in Dublin, which left a cyclist seriously injured.

The collision took place at 6.50am Tuesday morning involved a female pedal cyclist who was turning right onto Kevin Street Lower from Patrick Street in Dublin and was struck by a white cab tipper truck who was also turning onto Kevin Street.

Gardai from the area are appealing for witnesses to the hit and run collision. The driver did not remain at the scene and Gardaí are anxious to trace the truck and it's driver.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who has information about the tipper truck are asked to contact Gardaí at Kevin Street Garda Station on 01 6669400.

Two Pedestrians Killed In Collisions On Tuesday
Two men have been killed in separate traffic collisions on Tuesday. Gardaí at Bundoran are investigating the first collision that occurred on Main Street Bundoran at approximately 12.10am in the early hours of Tuesday morning. In the incident an 18-year-old pedestrian was killed when he was struck by an articulated lorry.

Fire At Dublin Church 'Suspicious'
A fire at St Catherine’s Church in Meath Street in Dublin has been called "suspicious" by Gardaí. Officers investigating the circumstances of the fire, which occurred on January 2 said they arrested a man in his 50s in connection with the incident. He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Kevin St Garda Station.

Car Search Recovers Over Kilo Of Heroin
A quantity of heroin has been found after a search on a vehicle in Dublin. The search was part of an "intelligence led operation" according to Gardaí from Kevin Street’s Detective and Drug Unit. The car search followed an investigation of an apartment in the Adamstown area of Lucan, Co. Dublin.

Missing 25-Year-Old Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A 25-year-old man who was missing from Harcourt Street in Dublin has been found safe and well, Gardaí have reported. Simon Quinn was reported missing after last being seen at around 2.30am on Monday, 30 July. However, Mr Quinn has now been found and Gardaí said they wish to thank the media and public for their assistance.

Water Charge Protest Held At Gates Of The Dáil
Some 300 people gathered on Kildare Street near to the Dáil on Wednesday afternoon to protest the water charges. Six gardaí vans responded to the protest, with confrontations between officers and protesters.
