Second Hit-And-Run Driver Held
Donegal Gardai have arrested a man in Glenties in connection with an alleged hit-and-run in Portnoo in the early hours of this morning.
This was the second such incident within 24-hours as a woman was arrested on Sunday in Co Galway.
They said that the road between the Summy Crossroads and Kilclooney Church, Glenties were closed throughout today in the wake of the incident which occurred at around 12.20am.
A 30-year-old man was struck as he walked along the road and was brought to Letterkenny General Hospital as a result.
One man, believed to be from Northern Ireland, has been arrested in connection with the incident.
He is currently being detained at Ballyshannon Garda Station.
The road outside Portnoo currently remains closed as a Garda forensic investigation team are due to visit the scene.
Meanwhile, a woman in her 30s was arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in Co Galway at the weekend.
The body of a man in his late sixties was found just before nine o'clock on a road in Cregg, Corrandulla, about 17 kilometres north of Galway city.
The woman was arrested yesterday afternoon and is still being questioned under Section four of the Criminal Justice Act.
The man who died is from the immediate area, but his name has not yet been released.
Gardai say the incident occurred between one and two o'clock on Sunday morning.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Gardaí are investigating after reports of gunshots in Dublin yesterday morning, Monday 22 April. The incident took plate on the Whitechapel Road, Clonsilla at around 10.45am. No injuries were reported. Investigating officers later arrested a 30-year-old man during a follow-up search of a house.

Garda Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Road Accident
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses of a fatal road accident in Co Kerry. A 24-year-old man died when the car he was driving hit a wall on the N69 Tralee-Listowel Road in Glenballyma in Tralee. The accident happened at about 21:45 on Saturday. A post-mortem is due to be carried out today.

Man Arrested Over €400,000 Cannabis Find
Cannabis with an estimated value of €400,000 has been seized in Co Donegal. Members of the Revenue and Gardaí uncovered the drugs during a search at Castlefin on Tuesday. Garda arrested a man in his 30s in connection with the find.

Man Arrested Following Drugs Find
Drugs with an estimated street value of €170,000 have been seized by gardai during a raid on a property in west Dublin. Cocaine and cannabis was found during the raid at a house in Balgaddy. A gun and ammunition were also discovered. A 37-year=old has been arrested and is being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station.
